NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk couple was arrested after police said they attacked another couple at a bar early Monday.
Otto Gomez-Gambota, 39, was charged with second-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. He was held on $25,000 bond and will appear in court June 4. Xinia Cespedes, 40, was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.
Police said the two were at Casa Blanca on Wall Street at 1:30 a.m. when Gomez-Gambota walked up to a 30-year-old man at the bar and punched him in the back of the head. The two began fighting and fell, and Gomez-Gambota bit the other man on his bicep, according to police.
While they were fighting, the man's 38-year-old girlfriend walked up to Gomez-Gambota and confronted him, at which point Gomez-Gambota's girlfriend, Cespedes, attacked her, according to police. Cespedes pulled the woman outside, slapped her, scratched her chest and pulled her hair, according to police.
The two left the area before officers arrived, police said.
Officers spoke to witnesses and tended to the two people who were attacked, who both refused medical attention, police said.
Police said they later found Gomez-Gambota and Cespedes at their Center Avenue home and took them into custody. Both denied having anything to do with the fight, police said.
