Norwalk Cops: Woman Charged As Drug Dealers' Accomplice

NORWALK, Conn. – A 22-year-old Norwalk woman, who allegedly allowed several drug dealers to operate out of her Washington Village home on Water Street, was arrested by Norwalk police early Thursday when officers raided her apartment, police said.

Briana Laws was arrested at about 6 a.m. Thursday when police executed a search warrant, which they obtained after a lengthy investigation, police said.

According to Lt. Jim Walsh, Laws had been allowing various drug dealers to work out of her apartment, selling a variety of narcotics.

During the search, officers found several bags of marijuana ready for sale in the apartment, said Walsh. The police investigation was continuing, and information was also given to the Norwalk Housing Authority, because the alleged narcotics activity was occurring in one of the agency’s housing complexes, police said.

Laws was charged several counts of possession and sale of narcotics and also risk of injury to a minor because a 4-year-old boy was in the apartment at the time of the arrest, police said. Police did not disclose whether the child was Laws’ son.

She was held on $10,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Friday.
