New York Mets Championship Ring Stolen From Norwalk Home

NORWALK, Conn. -- A New York Mets championship ring and a large amount of cash was stolen in a burglary at a Knob Hill Road residence late last week, Norwalk Police said.

The homeowner returned to the residence at about 11:30 p.m. and discovered that someone had broken in and that a window in the rear of the home was open, police said. 

The homeowner went through the residence and discovered that a 100-pound safe that contained the Mets National League championship ring, a junior college ring and a large amount of cash had been stolen, police said. 

Police released no further information on the Mets ring.

Police are continuing the investigation.
