Mark Raducha, 24, was charged with third-degree robbery and sixth-degree larceny. He was released on a promise to appear in court Sept. 10.

Police responded to 211 Liberty Square just before 10 p.m. Monday on a report of a robbery. Officers spoke to a 39-year-old man who said that he had been sleeping on a park bench when he awoke to a man taking money from him, police said.

The victim said that the suspect had taken nearly $80 and after a short scuffle had fled in the direction of the Stroffolino Bridge, police said.

Officers searched and located Raducha on the nearby bridge, police said. He was stopped, and police said that he had $78 in his possession. He was then taken into custody.
