Jeanette Navin, 55, and her husband, Jeffrey Navin, 56, have not been seen or heard from since Tuesday, Aug. 4. They were reported missing to police on Friday, Aug. 7. A Dodge pickup truck belonging to the couple was found in Westport two days later, and police have continued searching for them since.

State police took over the investigation from Easton police on Wednesday, at the request of the Bridgeport States Attorney's Office.

According to NBC Connecticut, state police spent Wednesday evening searching the Bridgeport home of Kyle Navin, the couple's son. Sources told NBC that Kyle Navin had been named a person of interest in the investigation.

Jeffrey Navin was reportedly $2.2 million in debt, though family members released a statement, saying that the couple's financial situation had nothing to do with their disappearance.
