Man Reports Mugging On Concord Street In Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk man reported he was mugged by a group of unknown men near Columbus Magnet School on Monday evening, according to police.

The 44-year-old man told police that he was walking near the basketball courts near 46 Concord St. at around 8 p.m. Monday when he was approached by five or six men, police said. He said the men attacked him, striking him in the face and stealing his wallet, according to police reports.

No weapons were used in the incident, police said.

The man was evaluated by paramedics and transported to Norwalk Hospital for treatment. A K9 unit was deployed to the area and searched but was unable to locate the suspects, police said. The Detective Bureau is currently investigating.
