NORWALK, Conn. – A 38-year-old man has been accused of posting sexually explicit photos of a Norwalk woman to an Instagram account without her knowledge last month, according to police reports.

The victim called police in January to report that an ex-boyfriend had been harassing her. The woman said Ralph White, of Brooklyn, N.Y., had made repeated visits to her home and had made so many calls to her cellphone that she needed to turn it off, police said.

The woman received an email from White saying, “If being nice to you is not working, then I’ll have to be mean to you in a public way,” according to the police report. He added that he would “move on to plan B” if she did not respond, police said.

The victim discovered that White had opened an account on Instagram in her name and added many of her friend and family members. White began posting photos of the woman in sexual situations and other private acts, according to the police report. The victim told police that she did not pose for the pictures and believes she was secretly taped, police said.

Officers talked with White outside the woman’s house in January and warned him to stay away for her, police said. At the time, he told officers that he believed she knew she was being recorded when he took the photos, according to the police report.

After an investigation, Norwalk police filed for an arrest warrant for White earlier this month. He turned himself in Thursday after learning of the warrant .

White was charged with voyeurism, dissemination of voyeuristic materials and second-degree harassment. He was held on $25,000 bond, and is due in court Friday.
