An officer responding to a call about the abandoned car on Tuesday evening was unable to find information about it by calling in the license plate number, according to the Stamford Advocate. He began looking through the car, which was unlocked, for a registration when he found the two guns, the Stamford Advocate reported.
One was a Versa .380 caliber pistol, and the other was a 9mm Jimenez semiautomatic pistol, according to the Stamford Advocate. Police checked the serial numbers, but they had not been reported stolen, and they are working to determine who they belong to, the Stamford Advocate reported.
Police told the Stamford Advocate that it's possible the guns could be "community" guns that are stashed for easy access.
