NORWALK, Conn. – A woman found lying on the ground of a South Norwalk street Sunday evening had been pushed out of a car, Norwalk police say.
The woman was bleeding from a laceration above her left elbow when she was found at about 7:51 p.m. at the intersection of Ely and Lexington avenues, Sgt. James Boff said. She smelled of alcohol, her eyes were bloodshot, her speech was slurred and she thought she might have been robbed of $30, Boff said. She was taken to Norwalk Hospital.
A witness said he saw her being pushed out of a black Pontiac across the street from the Mexicana Grocery, Boff said. Police found a vehicle that matched the description nearby and checked the license plate. Police subsequently talked to two men, who said they had picked her up. When she asked for money they got into a fight with her and threw her out of the car, police said. They said she fell on the sidewalk as they drove away police said.
