NORWALK, Conn. — A fire in an attic in a Country Club Road home was put out quickly by firefighters Monday morning.

No one was home when the fire began shortly after 10 a.m., on the side of the home where the wires from power lines enter, Deputy Chief Gino Gatto said in a news release.

Firefighters had to force their way in to put out the fire, which was contained to the attic. No injuries were reported. Three fire engines, two trucks, a rescue vehicle and an ambulance responded. The Westport Fire Department also assisted.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
