NORWALK, Conn. – A fire burned through the first floor living room of half of a Glasser Street duplex Monday afternoon, which required about 20 Norwalk firefighters to extinguish.
No injuries were reported in the blaze at 35 Glasser St., which occurred just before 3 p.m., according to Deputy Fire Chief Chris King. The family’s small dog was rescued by firefighters, who located the pet hiding under bed, King said.
One woman was in the home at the time of the fire, but she got out safely. The fire displaced the five-member family, but they will receive emergency shelter from the Red Cross, King said.
Norwalk police could see flames from the first floor living room window just before firefighters arrived. The fire was under control within five minutes, he said.
The fire's cause was under investigation, according to King.
