Fire Breaks Out At Two-Family Home On Seaside Ave In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. -- About a dozen people were displaced when a fire broke out at a two-unit residence on Seaside Avenue in Stamford Wednesday afternoon, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Fire officials told the Stamford Advocate that a child suffered minor injuries during the fire, which broke out shortly after 2 p.m. at 46 Seaside Ave. Six engines, two rescue trucks and 34 firefighters were called to the scene, and managed to get the fire under control by about 2:50 p.m., the Stamford Advocate reported.

The fire broke out in a second-floor bedroom of the residence, according to the Stamford Advocate. There was not much damage to the outside of the home, but firefighters opened up walls and ceilings during the fight, the Stamford Advocate reported.

A resident heard a smoke alarm go off, saw the flames, and then got everyone out of the house, according to the Stamford Advocate. Michael Dragonetti, an off-duty firefighter who lives nearby, went in to make sure everyone had gotten out safely, the Stamford Advocate reported.

The Red Cross of Connecticut is helping the residents who were displaced by the fire, according to the Stamford Advocate.
