Felon Arrested In Norwalk On Weapons, Heroin Charges

NORWALK, Conn. -- A convicted felon was arrested on weapons and drug charges Monday after police saw him conduct a drug transaction in Ryan Park, according to police.

Investigators conducting a surveillance of Ryan Park observed Hopeton "Hot Daddy" Marsh allegedly conduct a narcotics transaction, police said. He then got into his vehicle and drove away, police said.

That's when investigators initiated a traffic stop and allegedly found Marsh to be in possession of 16 bags of heroin, according to police.

Investigators then located a loaded 9mm pistol with an altered serial number in Marsh's vehicle, police said.

Marsh, a six-time convicted felon and on parole, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, weapon in a motor vehicle, altering serial number, carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics with intent to sell near a school, third-degree criminal trespass and operating with a suspended license, according to police.

Marsh was held on a $100,000 bond and remanded to the custody of Connecticut Parole.
