FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Bridgeport man who stole more than $84 in pain relievers from a Villa Avenue grocery store was arrested Saturday, police said.
Around 10 p.m., Stop & Shop loss prevention staffers saw Santoni Carl Bass, 54, of Calvin Avenue, on surveillance tape attempting to steal 16 bottles of Aleve, police said.
Officers met Bass, who has an extensive criminal history, as he walked out the front door.
He was charged with sixth-degree larceny and was released on a promise to appear in court on Dec. 5.
