Elderly Norwalk Man Hit By Car Gets Ticket From Police

NORWALK, Conn. -- A 71 year-old Norwalk man was given a ticket after being struck by a car while crossing the street early Monday morning, police said.

The man was crossing the street at Scribner Avenue and Connecticut Avenue at about 5:40 a.m. Monday when he was hit by the car, police said. The driver was making a left turn onto Connecticut Avenue when he hit the pedestrian, police said.

When police arrived, the pedestrian had abrasions on his forehead but was conscious and alert. He was taken to Norwalk Hospital.

There is no painted crosswalk at the intersection, but police said there is an unmarked crossing area. The pedestrian told police he had a green light to cross and believed the driver made an improper turn. The driver said he had a green light to turn. Police issued the pedestrian a $75 ticket for use of highway by a pedestrian.
