Anthony Cameron, 24, was charged with having weapons in a motor vehicle, improper use of marker plates, driving without insurance, driving with a suspended license and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. He posted $500 bond and will appear in court Aug. 20.

Officers on patrol saw Cameron driving a 1999 Honda Accord on Hoyt Street at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7. Police said there was no front bumper on the car, the rear of the vehicle was damaged and Cameron was following the car in front of him too closely. When officers checked his New Jersey plates, they found the registration was expired, according to police reports.

Cameron was stopped near Hoyt Court, police said. Officers said he appeared extremely nervous and was visibly shaking, police said.

He admitted to the motor vehicle violations and did not have any documentation for his car, police said. Police said he has been previously cited for driving without a license, and was arrested.

When officers were performing inventory of his car, they found a throwing knife with a double-sided blade over 4 inches in length in the sunglass compartment in the ceiling of the car, according to police reports. They also found a second knife with a smaller blade in the same location, police said. Cameron told officers that he knew about the knives but said they did not belong to him, according to police.

Officers also found a small amount of marijuana residue in a plastic cup in the center console, and in a plastic bag, but Cameron was not charged with possession of marijuana, police said.
