When officers responded to 25 Town Hill Ave. at 12:25 a.m. Friday on a report of a disturbance, they found the shooting victim, police said.
Officers assisted with first aid until EMS arrived, police said.
A 21-year-old man told officers that he was just shutting the entrance door to the common hallway that leads to his apartment when two males forced their way in and began beating him, police said.
The woman heard the fighting, came out of the bedroom and grabbed a katanah sword to help him, he told police.
The two males retreated and left the common hallway, but one of the men turned and fired one shot in their direction, hitting the woman in the stomach, police said.
The woman was transported to Danbury Hospital and treated, police said.
The victims were unable to describe the assailants, police said.
