Just before 6 p.m., Jackson Cariotte, 39, of Bronx Avenue, Bridgeport, was attempting to back up into the Cannondale train station and turned onto the front lawn of 19 Cannon Road to maneuver the bus into the train station, police said.

As he did, the front left wheel caught a support wire attached to a utility pole, which caused wires attached to a second, smaller utility pole across the street to fall onto a vehicle parked at the train station.

The first pole sustained extensive damage and had to be replaced by Eversource.
