Car Rolls Over, Hits Pole On Newtown Avenue In Norwalk; Roadway Closed

NORWALK, Conn. -- Newtown Avenue in Norwalk will be closed for four to five hours Friday after a rollover accident where a car hit a pole, police said.

The accident was reported at around 9:30 a.m. Friday. A car in the area of 219 Newtown Ave. rolled over and hit a utility pole, causing damage and downed wires, according to police. The driver sustained injuries in the accident, but the extent of those injuries were unknown as of 10 a.m. Friday.

The road will be closed for several hours while investigators process the scene and crews work to repair the damage. Officers are on duty to divert traffic.
