Car, Cash Reported Stolen In Pair Of Strong-Arm Robberies In Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. – A BMW and $250 in cash were reported stolen in two separate strong-arm robberies in Norwalk on Sunday, police said. 

The first incident was reported on Bouton Street early Sunday, police said. A man told police that he had been sleeping in a parked car when he was awoken by two black males with guns. The two demanded money and his cellphone, and then drove off in his black BMW after he got out, according to the police report.

The victim described one suspect as a black man between 25 and 30 years old, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing 155 to 165 pounds. He was wearing a black coat and a black hat, according to the report. He could not describe the other suspect.

Investigators found the man’s car abandoned on Cliff Street later Sunday morning, police said. The man’s wallet and iPhone were still inside. The matter was still under investigation by police.

The second case was reported on Grove Street at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday. The victim told police that two Hispanic teenage males asked him for money, and then followed him when he refused. The two then punched him in the face before taking his wallet and cellphone, according to the police report. About $250 cash was in the wallet at the time, the victim said.

The victim had bruises and cuts on his cheek and temple, according to the police report. He refused medical treatment, police said. The case was also under investigation.
