The stabbing in question took place at Brother Jimmy's BBQ on Bedford Street on May 28, 2016, the Stamford Advocate reported. Police were called on a report of a fight that ended with the 28-year-old getting stabbed in the abdomen, police told the Stamford Advocate.
Witnesses told police that the fight had involved the victim, a woman and 22-year-old Taquan McCrae of Bridgeport, according to the Stamford Advocate. McCrae was found with a folding knife on him, which was sent to a forensics labs for testing, according to the Stamford Advocate. The knife came back positive for the victim's DNA, and a warrant was issued for McCrae's arrest, police told the Stamford Advocate.
McCrae was arrested Tuesday in Bridgeport and taken back to Stamford for processing, the Stamford Advocate reported. He was charged with first-degree assault and held on a $100,000 bond, according to the Stamford Advocate.
