Two search-and-seizure warrants were executed at 4:50 p.m. Friday at 425/427 Wilmot Ave. by members of the Connecticut State Police Statewide Urban Violence Task Force (Gang Unit Task Force), the Bridgeport Police Department, the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, and ATF Task Force.

Officers arrested the city man and seized narcotics, firearms, and stolen property, State Police said.

Police began investigating after numerous shootings in the past year in the East End of Bridgeport. Investigators determined that the vacant house was occupied by known gang members who were running an illegal narcotics operation from there, State Police said.

In addition to drug sales, stolen property was accepted, often traded for narcotics, police said.

As a result of the search, investigators seized from the home and a vehicle there:

  • over $7,000 in U.S. currency,
  • seven guns, three of which were reported stolen,
  • a high-capacity 30 round magazine,
  • fireworks,
  • drug paraphernalia (two scales),
  • 125.5 grams of crack cocaine,
  • 110.9 ounces of suspected liquid Codeine,
  • 120 grams of marijuana,
  • a 2009 Toyota Avalon,
  • a 2011 DIX 113 motorcycle,
  • an unidentified brand dirt bike,
  • several ID cards and documents,
  • three power washers,
  • four chainsaws,
  • four grass trimmers,
  • four leaf blowers,
  • a Simplicity snow blower, and
  • a generator.

The seized guns were listed as two Glock handguns, a sawed-off shotgun, an Inner Arms .38 revolver, a Phoenix Arms .25-caliber pistol, a Rino Calesi .25-caliber pistol, and a Charter Arms revolver.

Investigators identified Yero Walker, of 136 St. Stephens Road, as the owner of the Toyota at the scene and as the person selling drugs from the home, State Police said.

Yero was arrested and charged with:

  • seven counts of criminal possession of a firearm,
  • criminal possession of ammunition,
  • possession of a sawed-off shotgun,
  • weapons in a motor vehicle,
  • possession of a high-capacity magazine,
  • three counts of theft of firearm,
  • possession of narcotics,
  • possession with intent to sell,
  • possession within 1,500 feet of a school zone and
  • operating a drug factory.

He was held on $500,000 bond for a Feb. 8 appearance in Bridgeport Superior Court.
