Backpack Leaf Blower Stolen Off Work Truck Parked In Darien

DARIEN, Conn. — A backpack blower worth $650 was stolen from the back of a work truck in Darien last week.

Police said the truck was parked in the rear lot of stores located on the Post Road at Noroton Avenue between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9. A white van with no noticeable markings, driven by a Hispanic male, was seen leaving the scene shortly after the theft, according to police.

There is no video surveillance in the rear parking lot, police said. A white Ford van was observed in a similar theft in Darien on May 2 at 590 Post Road, where a similar backpack blower was taken. The events remain under investigation.
