Kevin Doyle, of Harwinton, was arrested around noon Saturday at the Red Carpet Inn on Main Street after selling more than 100 bags of heroin to a Stamford Police officer with the Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit, said Capt. Richard Conklin.

Agents with the unit had heard on the streets that Doyle had heroin for sale. They were able to make contact with him and set up a buy, asking for 100 bags of heroin, Conklin said.

The agent and Doyle met at the hotel and after a brief negotiation on price, the deal was done and agents from the squad moved in and arrested Doyle, who has a lengthy police record, Conklin said.

He was charged with sale of narcotics over 10 ounces and is being held on $50,000 bond.

The 100 bags of heroin, which were stamped "Marvel," weighted around 32.8 grams, Conklin said.

"These busts show there is still a strong desire for opioids in the area," Conklin said.
