NORWALK, Conn. – Two Norwalk women were arrested following a fight at Calf Pasture Beach over a man, police reported. Alba Montero, 18, and Maria Vargas, 22, were charged with second-degree breach of peace and are due in court July 6.

Montero told police that Vargas’s sister approached her and accused her of stealing her husband. Vargas told police she saw the pair arguing and approached and was attacked by Montero. Montero said Vargas was the one who attacked her and that she was attacked by other people also, police said.

When the police arrived, Montero had scratches on her head, neck and arms and Vargas had a bump on her head. Both refused medical attention.

The following was also reported in the Norwalk police blotter:

Adarryll McLellan, 40, of Bridgeport was arrested for allegedly choking his girlfriend after they got into an argument over a woman he used to date, police report. The girlfriend told police they were yelling at each other early Saturday morning and when she put down their 4-year-old son, McLellan pushed her and began to choke her.

The girlfriend said she punched McLellan in self-defense, and that afterward he choked her again and threatened to kill her. He then left the apartment. Police said  the girlfriend had redness and swelling on her neck, and blood on her earlobe.

A warrant was issued for McLellan’s arrest, and he turned himself into police later Saturday. He was charged with first-degree strangulation, third-degree assault, second-degree threatening, disorderly conduct and risk of injury to a minor. He was held in lieu of a $5,000 bond and appeared in court Monday.

Was it truly a fight over a man, or was it yet another in a long line of misunderstood Memorial Day Parade-related activities?

Tim T:

How ignorant can you be still making a joke out of crime.

RML:

That is too funny...LOL. These girls are seriously out here fighting over a man?!? You've got to be kidding me. Then again their age does speak volumes!! Just some advice for you two young ladies.....you should both kick this guy to the curb. You should not have to fight for a man. If he was worth having, you wouldn't have to fight for him.

@ RML
I so totally agree with you..not only is this shame on them,shame on their family..No class!! SMH ...LOL

@lasthollerin1
She is talking about this other chick stole HER husband!!!!!! I am rolling. For one...a man is gonna be a man. She didn't steal anything. He willingly went. It's females like these that allow men to cheat and they get mad at the " other female", ready to fight for "their man" when they should get rid of the man and whip his a*s!!!! The females are yelling, fighting, and carrying on like fools while the man stands on the side line like, "can't we just all get along"? He don't care because at the end of the day...nothing is going to change!!!!!
