To the Editor,
A week ago, Congressman Chris Murphy visited AdChem, an aircraft engine manufacturing company in Manchester. As he spoke to managers and employees, he laid out his vision for revitalizing Connecticut manufacturing companies and putting Americans back to work when he announced the beginning of his "Getting to Work" jobs tour.
Also that morning, in the second stop of his "Getting to Work" tour, Chris dropped by Total Image Beauty and Barber, a small business in Stamford. While sweeping floors, Chris spoke with and listened to customers and employees as they described the ways in which Washington could help them grow their small businesses. Chris also chatted with the students who come to Total Image Beauty and Barber to learn the trade.
Last week in Norwalk, Chris visited and spoke with constituents. Again he expressed the same concerns for our city's economic growth and its comparisons to the growth of our nation.
Chris's focus on listening to and working alongside employees, demonstrates his commitment to bringing with him to Washington a jobs plan that encompasses the ideas of real people. As Chris described in Manchester, Stamford and Norwalk, the outline of his jobs plan provides the foundation for economic recovery. The details of his jobs plan will be formed organically as he travels across the state of Connecticut, listening to both employees and employers suggestions for how Washington can help them expand their small businesses and put Americans back to work.
We need to send a senator to Washington who understands the needs of his constituents and who can articulate a vision for our country. A vision that takes into account what is needed to help America's economic recovery. Time and time again Chris has proven that he is the candidate in this race who will be the people's representative in Washington and that is why we need Chris Murphy to become our next U.S. senator from Connecticut.
