Alcaide was born Jan. 16, 1942, in the Philippines, son of John and Cecilia Diso Alcaide, and had lived locally since 1966. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of the St. Mary Church Choir and the Philippine-American Association in Connecticut.
Alcaide is survived by his wife, Honorata Cruz Alcaide; sons, Rondolph Alcaide of Redding and Christopher Alcaide and his partner, Carrie Etzen of Norwalk; brothers, Donald Alcaide of Norwalk and Rudy Alcaide of Charlotte, N.C.; sisters, Leonora Carungay and Aurelia Andres of Hawaii, Rosalina Perea, Rufina Torres and Evelyn Rivas of Norwalk; sister-in-law, Delendia Alcaide; brothers-in-law, Ernesto Torres and Ray Rivas of Norwalk; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.
Calling hours are Wednesday, May 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 16 at St. Mary Church, 669 West Ave., Norwalk. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.
