Vilma A. Caruso, 78, Of Norwalk, Owned And Operated Flower House

NORWALK, Conn. - Vilma A. Caruso of Norwalk died Nov. 11. She was 78.

Caruso was born Aug. 1, 1935, in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of Nicholas and Rocchina DeFinis. She moved to Norwalk with her family at a young age and attended Norwalk Public Schools. After graduating from Merril Business School, she worked for Ramar Sales Agency where she worked her way up to office administrator. Afterwards she pursued her hobby of dried floral arranging and owned and operated the Flower House for several years. She was active in several woman’s organizations such as the Columbiettes Council 46 where she held several board positions over the years. Caruso is survived by her husband, Louis F. Caruso; daughter, Lisa Miglietta (Bruno); son, John Caruso (Paula); three grandchildren;. She was predeceased by her parents; and brother, Fred N. DeFinis.

Calling hours are Thursday, Nov. 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15 at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Ave., Norwalk. The St. Ann Ladies Auxiliary will pay their respects at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jerome Church.
