Roye was born May 2, 1923 in Tarbaro, N.C. to Bill and Lena Ellison.
Roye is survived by daughter, Annie Wilson Henley of Phenix City, Ala.; son, Thurman Wilson Jr. of Danville, Va.; step-daughter, Renee Hoffman of Ariz.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Artis of Greenville, N.C.; a host of nieces, nephews; and other family. She was predeceased by her husband, David N. Roye.
