NORWALK, Conn. – Thursa June Merritt, a lifelong resident of Shorefront Park in Norwalk, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Norwalk Hospital. She was 71.
Born in Norwalk, she was the daughter of Philip and Mary-Alice (Barnum) Merritt.
She was a graduate of Brien McMahon High School and Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Mo. She found fulfillment with her family and her career with the Greater Fairfield County CMLS.
She is survived by her sisters Phyllis Kelleher and her husband, Bob, of Woodbury, and Starr Moore of Pensacola, Fla.; and nieces Holly Oliver and her husband, Ian, of Washington, D.C., and Katie Moore of Tallahassee, Fla.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her nephew, Robert Kelleher.
Her family will receive friends on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. Services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 2 Emerson St., East Norwalk, officiated by the Rev. Canon Patricia Coller. Entombment will follow at Willowbrook Cemetery, Westport.
