NORWALK, Conn. -- Sylvia B. Carter died at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, Dec. 30. She was 78 years old.
She was born on Sept. 30, 1936, and was married to the late Deacon Albert Carter Jr. of Norwalk. Survivors include one son, Albert Carter III of Absecon, N.J.; daughters Sylvia (Harold) Bridgeforth of Stratford, Barbara (Robert) Francis of Stone Mountain, Ga., Cassandra Carter of Norwalk and Linda Joyner of New Haven; one brother, William (Tiffany) Henry of Bridgeport; stepmother Elizabeth Henry of Stamford; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, Jan. 10, at 1 p.m. at Canaan Institutional Baptist Church, 31 Concord St., Norwalk with the Rev. Roosevelt Ewell officiating.
