NORWALK, Conn. – Shirley Grace Taylor Charpentier of East Norwalk died July 14 at Norwalk Hospital, with family by her side. She was 89.
Born Nov. 17, 1922, in Norwalk, Charpentier was the daughter of Harry Taylor and Grace Phillips Valentine. She married Paul Charpentier on Nov. 13, 1943, in Westport and raised five children.
Charpentier was predeceased by her husband, Paul; two sisters, Marjorie and Eleanor; and three brothers, Philip, Harold and William. She is survived by five children, Michele, Roberta, Robert, Michael and Eleanor; a sister, Kathleen (Kenneth) Nette; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Friends and family will gather at Collins Funeral Home in Norwalk at 9 a.m. Wednesday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Norwalk. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Norwalk.
