Savvas Stefanidis, 79, Of Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. - Savvas Stefanidis, of Norwalk, died Thursday, Feb. 21. He was 79.

Stefanidis was born in Anatoliko, Kozani, Greece, March 3, 1933. He was the son of Stefanos and Katerina Kotsoni Stefanidis. Stefanidis served in the Greek Army before moving to Norwalk in 1962. He was employed at Hicks and Otis and became a partner in the former Skipper’s Restaurant.

Stefanidis is survived by his wife; a daughter, Roula Stefanidis, of Stamford; two sons, Stefanos Stefanidis and Konstantinos Stefanidis, two stepdaughters; Rita Paschalidis and Annet Papadopoulos; and four grandchildren.

Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave. Services will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 238 West Rocks Road. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
