Ruth Linxweiler

NORWALK, Conn. – Ruth Smith Linxweiler , formerly of South Norwalk, died Dec. 27 at her home in Dallas, Tex. She was 92.

Born in Norwalk to Katherine Millburn Smith and Arthur Herbert Smith, she attended local schools and graduated from Norwalk High School in 1938.

She lived in South Norwalk, where she was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church until 1969, when she relocated to Newark, Del., with her husband. Recently, she lived in Miami and Dallas. She enjoyed being around people, her family said.

Linxweiler was predeceased by her husband, Jacob Linxweiler, in 1980; and a brother, Herbert Franklin Smith, in 1956.

She is survived by a son, Jacob (Joanne) Linxweiler, of Auburn, N.H.; a daughter, Karlene (Bill) Crowley, of Dallas; seven grandchildren and a niece.

Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Collins Funeral Home in Norwalk. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Church in Norwalk. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.
