Rosemary Lane, 86, Of Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. – Rosemary Farrell Lane, 86, died on Monday, March 9.

She was born on Feb. 14, 1929, to Marguerite and Frank Farrell. She attended St. Joseph’s School, Sacred Heart Academy in Stamford and received a bachelor’s degree in education from Danbury State Teachers College. She taught elementary school at Roosevelt School on Allen Road, and was a longtime member of Shore and Country Club. She was an active parishioner and special minister at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in East Norwalk.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bill Lane; daughter Nancy Lane Smith and her husband, John; Paul Smith of Greenville, N.C; and two grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her sister and two brothers.

The family will receive friends at 8:30 a.m. on Thursdaty at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 12, at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Ave. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
