Rose Mangone Chiaia, 88, Former Norwalk Resident

NAPLES, Fla. - Rose Mangone Chiaia of Naples, formerly of Norwalk, died Sunday, July 6. She was 88.

Chiaia was born March 10, 1926, in Norwalk, the daughter of Antonio and Annuniziata (Monteleone) Chiaia. She was a budget coordinator for the Save the Children Foundation for many years. She was a member of the Naples Park Association and had a passion for bowling and playing cards.

Chiaia is survived by her husband, Louis; son, Louis, LJ (Sharene); three grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Dominick, Anthony and Joseph Mangone; and sister, Julia Chiappetta.

Calling hours are Wednesday, July 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 17, at St. Philip Church, 25 France St., Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to, Save the Children Foundation, 501 Kings Hwy E, Fairfield, CT 06880 in Chiaia’s name.
