Rose Macari, 72, Of Rowayton, Retired Employee Of Machlett Laboratories

ROWAYTON, Conn. - Rose Macari of Rowayton died Friday, July 5. She was 72.

Macari was born in Castelforte, Italy, daughter of David and Francesca (Saltarelli) DiSpirito. She retired from Machlett Laboratories where she worked for many years.

Macari is survived by daughters, Anita Grundy (Andrew) of Greenwich, Marina Lametta (Kenny) of Westport and Stephanie Devine (Dan) of Westport; eight grandchildren; brother, Enzo DiSpitiro of Italy; sister, Anita Fragnoli of Italy; many nieces and nephews; and longtime friend and companion, Frank Toner of Guilford. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, John G. Macari; and brother, Joseph DiSpirito of Stamford. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated (a time to be announced) Friday, July 12 at Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Ave., Westport.
