Robert A. Kuchta, 63, Of Norwalk, Founder, Girls Lacrosse

NORWALK, Conn. - Robert A. Kuchta of Norwalk and formerly of Stamford, died Wednesday, Nov. 6. He was 63.

Kuchta was born May 3, 1950, in Stamford, to John S. and Carmela Sabia Kuchta. He was a graduate of Rippowam High School, class of 1968 and awarded All State Football honors. He was an art teacher at Cloonan Middle School of Stamford for 37 years. He also founded girls lacrosse in Norwalk and served as the Brien McMahon girls lacrosse coach.

Kuchta is survived by his wife, Criss Dawes Kuchta of Norwalk; children, Ian Dawes Kuchta of Greenwich and Emily K. Kuchta of Rye, N.Y.; brother, John A. Kuchta (Donna) of Stratford; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.

Calling hours are Friday, Nov. 8 from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford and Saturday, Nov. 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a service following at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
