Robert Butryn, 81, Norwalk Resident

NORWALK, Conn. – Robert Butryn of Norwalk, formerly of Yonkers, husband of the late Anna (Ward) Butryn, died Wednesday, Feb.10, at Autumn Lake Healthcare. He was 81.

Born in Schenectady, N.Y., he was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and loved fishing. 

He is survived by two daughters, Jo-Ann Denzel, of Norwalk, and Patricia Brown, of Wappingers Falls, N.Y.; five grandchildren, William, Emily, Anna, Dakota and Dylan; two great-grandchildren, Grace and Sofia; a brother, Richard Butryn of California; and a sister, Joyce Scruton, of New Jersey.

His family will receive friends Monday, Feb. 15, from 5-8 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Ave., Norwalk, with military burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y.
