Ridgefield's John Valluzzo, 75, Museum Founder, Business Owner

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Services for Ridgefield's John V. Valluzzo, 75, a Danbury businessman and museum founder who died May 24, will be Sunday and Monday, according to Green Funeral Home in Danbury. 

He graduated from St. Joseph School in Danbury, Fairfield College Preparatory School and the University of Connecticut in 1962. Valluzzo was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Valluzzo was the retired president and owner of Danbury Centerless Grinding Co. He was also the president and chairman of the board of Danbury's Military Museum of Southern New England, which he founded in 1985.

Calling hours will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 3, at 10:30 am at St. Rose of Lima Church, Newtown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. 

Valluzzo, who was shot by a Ridgefield police officer responding to a report of a domestic dispute, died later at Danbury Hospital. The state police are investigating his death.
