NORWALK, Conn. Richard W. Darragh of Norwalk died Oct. 10 at Norwalk Hospital after a brief illness. He was 71.
Darragh was born Jan. 21, 1941, in Norwalk to Catherine M. Kleis Darragh and the late Albert Austin Darragh Sr. He graduated from Norwalk High School in 1959 and the Paier School of Art in 1967, with a degree in commercial advertising.
He worked as a graphic designer for Pitney Bowes and was married to Judith E. Caldwell Darragh. He served in the National Guard during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Shore and Country Club. Darragh enjoyed fishing, working with stained glass and restoring classic cars, especially Corvettes, in his spare time.
Darragh is survived by his wife, Judith; his mother, Catherine; two daughters, Stacey D. (Frank) Garnett and Rebecca (Angelo) Savvaides, both of Norwalk; a brother, Albert A. Darragh Jr., of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and two granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Magner Funeral Home in Norwalk. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
