NORWALK, Conn. – U.S. Army Veteran Paul Hiller Sr., 81, of Norwalk, died Monday, March 2 in Norwalk Hospital.
Born in the Bronx, New York, on Oct. 12, 1933, the son of the late Morris and Anna Mitchik Hiller, he was a lifelong Norwalk resident, and a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Early on, Hiller was a design engineer, working for Barnes Engineering, prior to operating his own service stations and tow trucks on both West Avenue and New Canaan Avenue in the 1970s. He also involved himself in commercial real estate and operated a U-Haul franchise. He enjoyed playing cards, but loved boating and fishing the most. He was a member of the South Norwalk Boat Club for more than 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Wolfe Hiller; six children, Paul Hiller Jr. and his wife, Joy of Norwalk; Mark Hiller and his wife, Deana, of Norwalk; Sharon Bendix and her husband, Ralph, of St. Augustine, Fla.; Robin Francis of Wallingford; Donna Wathem and her husband, George, also of St. Augustine, Fla.; and Sandra Iannacone of York, S.C.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will take place at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave. Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the services from 4-7:30 p.m.
