Bellocchio was born Nov. 18, 1944, to Pietro and Lucia Albrizio Bellocchio. He was a graduate of Greenwich High School and joined the United States Navy, serving on a Naval destroyer during the Vietnam War in the Bay of Pigs Conflict. He was discharged in 1964. He became a substance abuse counselor at Norwalk Hospital for 14 years.
Bellocchio is survived by his son, Anthony Bellocchio of Stamford; daughter, Cynthia D. Rubin of Milford; sister, Elizabeth Bellocchio of Southbury; brother, Frank P. Bellocchio and Elizabeth P. Ball of Stamford; uncle, Frank Albrizio (Madeline) of Greenwich; a nephew and niece; and cousins, throughout Conn.
Calling hours are Wednesday, Oct. 22 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford. A funeral procession will leave at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23 from the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Leo Parish, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Bellocchio to Puppies Behind Bars, 263 West 38th Street, 4th Floor, New York, NY 10018.
