Patricia O'Reilly (nee O'Brien), 90, Norwalk Resident

NORWALK, Conn. -- Patricia O'Reilly (nee O'Brien) , 90, of Norwalk, passed away in the morning hours of Aug. 6 in a room packed with photographs of all the friends and family whose lives she filled with light.

Pat was being cared for by her adoring family and health care aides at the Crosby Commons Assisted Living facility in Shelton.

Born in Norwalk on Aug. 26, the elder of two children, Pat spent the majority of her life in Norwalk. She graduated in the class of 1944 from the College of New Rochelle. In July 1948, she married James O'Reilly, with whom she began a family just a year later. James passed away in 1983.

Pat is survived by a loving family that includes her brother, Lawrence O'Brien and his wife Emily, and her four children and their spouses: Catherine and husband David Jaundrill, James O'Reilly and wife Karen Stockwell, Laurie and husband Keith Rongey, and Brien O'Reilly and wife Sandi Kroll. Pat also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren—Allison Stockwell, Colin Jaundrill and wife Adeline Wong, Kristin and husband Mike Zubrow, Sarah and Kyle Rongey, Owen and Ian O'Reilly—as well as great-granddaughter, Grace Jaundrill. Nothing was more important to Pat than her family. She helped raise three sets of grandchildren over the course of three decades.

All of her grandchildren called her "Pat" instead of "grandma," in recognition of the fact that she was more than just a grandparent. When not looking after her family, Pat spent her free time traveling with a close group of friends, many of whom she had known since childhood.

The family would like to thank the residents and staff who made Pat's final months at Crosby Commons as comfortable as possible. They would particularly like to extend their gratitude to Maureen, Yvette, and Ashley.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 17, at St. Jerome's Church in Norwalk. Donations can be made to St. Jerome's Church in Norwalk, or Crosby Commons Employee Fund c/o Lori Pisano in Shelton. For directions or online guestbook, please go to: www.magnerfuneralhome.com
