NORWALK, Conn. – Patricia Josephine Kelly, 85, of Norwalk, formerly of Westport and Milford, Conn.; and Chappaqua, N.Y., died Friday, May 15 at Norwalk Hospital.
She was born March 19, 1930, the daughter of the late Patrick Joseph Kelly and Annie Leonard Kelly.
She grew up in the Bronx, N.Y., and graduated from Evander Childs High School. She went to Hunter College, where she received Phi Beta Kappa and graduated magna cum laude. She also received a master’s degree from Queens College.
She had a fulfilling teaching career, which began at Murray Avenue School in Larchmont, N.Y., and included teaching English at Gateway Community College in New Haven, Conn. She was also a highly successful account representative for The Guide in Westchester County, N.Y.
Always a lover of the outdoors, she enjoyed playing tennis, gardening and traveling. She read poetry, spoke Spanish and adored her family.
She is survived by three children, Ed Nalbandian (Tracy) of Weston; Carolyn Johnson (Jonathan) of Guilford, Conn.; and Jackie Kelly (R.J.) of Wilton; a sister; and seven grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother.
