Ormond M. Sara, 79, Of Norwalk, Baker At Pepperidge Farm Bakery

SHELTON, Conn. - Ormond M. Sara of Shelton died Tuesday, July 9. He was 79.

Sara was born on June 22, 1934, in Bridgeport, son of Henry and Katherine Martin Sara. He was a resident of Shelton for 16 years, prior having lived in Fairfield. He was employed at Sturm Ruger Firearms in Southport, later as a baker for Pepperidge Farm Bakery in Norwalk, and retired from ShopRite in Derby. A communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Shelton, he served as a eucharistic minister and was a member of the Catholic Men's Club.

Sara is survived by sons, Wayne Sara (Maureen) of Stratford and Kevin Sara (Tami) of Naugatuck; brother, Philip Sara of Fairfield; brother-in-law, Fritz Liepertz (Lynn) of Sacramento, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Joan Liepertz Sara; and sister, Doris Vereb.

Calling hours are Friday, July 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the chapel of the  Spinelli-ricciuti/Bednar-Osiecki Funeral Home, 62 Beaver St., in Ansonia. Funeral services are Saturday, July 13 at 8:15 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Shelton. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Shelton.
