NORWALK, Conn. - Oliver E. Franklin of Norwalk died Monday, Sept. 22. He was 84.
Franklin was born Oct. 31, 1929, in Bridgeport, to Reginald and Olive Franklin. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served 30 years as an officer for the Norwalk Police Department.
Franklin is survived by his daughter, Gale McClernon (Robert) of Shelton; a granddaughter; and sister, Blanche Kent of Stratford. He was predeceased by his parents; and wife, Anna Franklin.
Calling hours are Thursday, Sept. 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk. Services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Franklin’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
