Norwalk Pharmacist John Moore Dies at 57

NORWALK, Conn. – John Robert Moore of Norwalk died of cancer June 27 at Stamford Hospital. He was 57. 

Moore was born Feb. 17, 1955, in Derby, Conn., to William Vincent and Mary Palmer Moore. He was raised and educated in Ansonia, Conn. Moore received a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from the University of Connecticut and a master of health administration degree from Western Connecticut State University. 

During his career as a pharmacist, Moore was co-owner of Cranbury Pharmacy in Norwalk and Family Pharmacy in Bridgeport. He also worked in various hospitals and retail pharmacies. Most recently, Moore worked for Norwalk Hospital as manager of SWC Pharmacy. 

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Martha Boddy Moore; two daughters, Caitlin Moore, of Massachusetts, and Meghan Moore, of Norwalk; a sister, Patricia Moore (Casimir) Stochmal, of Derby; a brother, William V. (Kathleen) Moore Jr., of Encino, Calif.; a nephew and a niece. 

Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Collins Funeral Home in Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Burial will follow at Mount St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
