She was predeceased by her husband, Robert James Wagner, and parents, John and Edith Irving.
Wagner and her husband lived in Norwalk for the majority of their lives and were part-time residents of Naples, Fla. She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1945 and received her associate's degree in accounting at Norwalk Community College in 1978, graduating summa cum laude.
She was employed at the Norwalk Board of Education, where she served as executive assistant to the superintendent and as executive secretary on the Norwalk Board of Education until her retirement in 1989.
Wagner is survived by five children: Kathleen Kruthaupt, Anne Haymon, Gail Campbell, Barbara Moscato, and Robert Wagner; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marjorie Brown, Ruth Tanner, and Joan Johnson; two brothers, John W. and William W. Irving; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home, 5 E. Wall St., Norwalk. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Norwalk United Methodist Church, 718 West Ave.
