Newsman Bruce Morton, Norwalk Native, Dies At 83

NORWALK, Conn. -- Bruce Morton, a Norwalk native and longtime news correspondent for CBS and CNN, died Friday at his home in Washington, D.C., at the age of 83, according to CBS News.com.

Morton began his career after graduating from Harvard and serving in the U.S. Army. He joined ABC News in 1962 and moved to CBS in 1964, he joined CBS News, where he would stay for the next 29 years, CBS said.

After leaving CBS in 1993, Morton went to work for CNN, where he stayed until his retirement in 2006, CBS said.
